I started CloudDay.io because I lived the problem I want to solve. As the wife of a former professional athlete, I know a little too well what invasion of privacy feels like. From daily harassment and stalking to being recognized in public and being impersonated — it was disorienting and anxiety-inducing. Over the years, I saw just how little respect some people have for personal boundaries.
Around the pandemic, I was notified that my private information was part of several data breaches. Financial, health, and other deeply personal details were suddenly floating out in the endless universe of the internet. I'd get robocalls every few minutes and endless junk mail from places I'd never even heard of. Then it escalated: someone pretended to be a relative and scammed me out of $500. I never thought I'd fall for something like that, but I did. They knew such intimate details about me, my family, where I lived that it felt real. Thankfully, I got my money back, but I felt so exposed for weeks after.
These risks spill into everyday life. My own parents fell victim to fraud when contractors they hired for a landscaping project abandoned the work on the second day and ran off with thousands. That was the moment I understood: protecting privacy isn't just about data — it's about safeguarding people's lives in every space they exist.
All of this convinced me that privacy must be protected both online and offline. CloudDay.io is my response: practical tools and services that limit who can find your information, who can access you, and who you can trust. Because no one should ever feel as exposed and unsafe as I once did.
